Tips on Taking Great Photos

We have been getting a lot of inquiries from all of you on how to take great photos. As such, we have compiled some of our top tips below. We hope that you will be able to learn from it. But please feel free to let us know if you need anything else or if you want us to add some more.

Please know that the tips here are for those using manual camera settings.

Tip #1: It is all about the lighting.

When you need to take a photo, it is important to understand how to use available lighting, how to position yourself and your camera according to the light. In doing so, you can also check how to probably enhance the light using the equipment that you have.

Tip #2: Use special lenses.

In achieving certain photo effects, it will be good if you arm yourself with special lenses. There are currently several available in the market, at different price points. So that you know what to choose, determine first what your needs are. Do you need to shoot long range? There’s a lens for that. Do you need to shoot macro images? There’s also an available lens for that.

Tip #3: Be conscious of your aperture and shutter speed.

When your camera is in manual mode, you should be very conscious of how to use your aperture and shutter speeds to achieve the effect and the photo that you want. Remember that the shutter speed will affect the subject of your image and the aperture will affect the DOF so always check it out.

Tip #4: Slow down

Take the time to really think about your composition. In this way, you will be able to check your aperture and shutter speeds and how you will be taking your photos.
